Dr. Ashley Wofford loves to empower her patients with the knowledge and skills they need to take control of their health.
“I cherish the relationships I have with my patients and count it an honor to work in family medicine where I can care for the entire family, whether a mom and baby who are struggling with breastfeeding, or an older family member who is facing medical decision-making about the end of life,” she says. “The variety of care required for family medicine keeps me engaged and committed to learning and providing the best possible care for my patients.”
Dr. Wofford attended the University of Southern California for her undergraduate work, after which she went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There she earned her Master of Public Health and her Doctorate of Medicine. From 2012-2015 she completed her Residency training at the University of Arizona in Family & Community Medicine.
Born in New Hampshire, and raised in Cary, NC, Ashley Wofford Leong, MD, MPH, lived in Arizona a few years with her husband. While they loved the desert state and living there, they moved back to North Carolina to be closer to their family.
When not working, Dr. Wofford spends most of her time with her husband and young daughter. She also enjoys being outside, reading, singing, seeing shows, traveling, and pulling for the NC State Wolfpack. The family also has a beagle and is involved in their church community.
