Welcome, patient! We’re thrilled to offer you a new way to schedule medical appointments online in a way that fits your schedule and lifestyle. Scheduling your online appointment with Generations Family Practice is easy, fast, and makes it simple to check your calendar.

We know most people are used to booking tickets and appointments online, so why should your doctor’s appointment be any different? With medical appointments scheduling online, you can make your appointment with our physicians. You’ll be able to see what appointment times are available for your providers and choose the best option for you.

There is one downside: You don’t get to speak directly to our excellent front desk team! However, you’re still welcome to call us at 919-852-3999 if you run into any trouble with our patient portal scheduling system or if you are unable to find an appointment that works for you.

How to Schedule Medical Appointments Online 

If you’re ready to schedule medical appointments online, here are step-by-step instructions to guide you. If you have questions, you can contact us by phone at 919-852-3999 or email us at info@generationsfamilypractice.com.

  1. Login to your Patient Portal account. https://7942.portal.athenahealth.com/
  2. Click “appointments” on the left side of the Patient Portal window. A new window will appear.
  3. You can then choose a reason for your appointment from the dropdown menu.
    4. Then click “Find Appointments.” (Please note that for flu shots and lab work, we will not directly schedule your appointment. Instead, a box will pop up enabling you to request your preferred time/date, and we’ll get back to you to confirm.)
  4. You’ll see a calendar appear. You’ll also see provider and location menus, and a time of day selector.
  5. Choose your preferred time of day, as well as your provider.
  6. On the right, you’ll see appointments that meet your criteria. Select one. 8. Review the information to make sure it’s correct. You can also write a note to the doctor if you want.
  7. Click the “Schedule Now” button.
  8. You’ll see a confirmation message, and later, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Mark your calendar for the appointment date and time, and we’ll see you then!

Cancel or Reschedule an Appointment

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, follow these steps:

  1. Login to your Patient Portal account. https://7942.portal.athenahealth.com/
  2. Click “appointments” on the left side of the Patient Portal window.
  3. You’ll see your upcoming appointments listed. Click either “cancel” or “reschedule” next to the appointment. If you choose to cancel, you’ll see a confirmation box. If you reschedule, you’ll see the same menu and options as you did when making your appointment.

**Please Note: Canceling or rescheduling within 24-hrs of the scheduled appointment will require a call to the office and may incur a late cancellation fee of $75.
